Relavco began in March 2026 with a simple, stubborn idea: that something as small as a bar of soap could carry real dignity to the people who need it most.
Relavco was created after our founder, Humdaan Waheed, discovered the growing homelessness crisis while researching a sustainability project during science class. During his research, he came across the Point-in-Time Count published by the Regional Municipality of Peel, which revealed a concerning increase in homelessness across the region. At the same time, many organizations serving vulnerable populations were facing growing demand and limited resources.
Recognizing an opportunity to address both environmental waste and community need, Humdaan partnered with like-minded peers, Pratim Singh and Aarjav Patel, to create Relavco.
The name Relavco reflects our mission: Recycle, Lather, Corporation. We collect partially used soap bars that would otherwise be discarded, recycle them into new products, and redistribute them to those who need them most. Inspired by initiatives such as Clean the World, Relavco aims to become the leading soap recycling organization in the Greater Toronto Area, transforming waste into opportunity.
We believe that everything deserves a second chance, including a bar of soap.
Welcome to Relavco, where we repurpose soap and renew hope.
Our vision
[Placeholder, your vision. e.g. A GTA where no one goes without basic hygiene, and where no usable bar of soap is ever wasted.]
