Terms of Service

Relavco is a Brampton, Ontario-based social enterprise that recycles rescued soap into new artisan bars and donates every bar, free of charge, to outreach communities across the Greater Toronto Area. You can reach us at Relavco@gmail.com.

You must be the age of majority in your province or territory, and able to enter a binding contract, to purchase from us. By ordering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method you choose.

Relavco soap is made from reclaimed bars that are sanitized, melted, and remoulded by hand. Because each batch is handmade from recycled material, the colour, scent, size, and appearance of a bar may vary slightly from the photos and descriptions on the site. These natural variations are part of the product and are not defects.

Our soap is for external use only and may contain essential oils, fragrance, botanicals, and other ingredients. Because our bars are made by hand from reclaimed soap, we cannot guarantee a complete or exhaustive ingredient list for every bar, and individual bars may contain trace ingredients carried over from the original soap. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and we make no medical or therapeutic claims.

Relavco bars are made from quality, gently-used and surplus soap reclaimed from reputable sources, such as hotels, inns, and suppliers who would otherwise send it to landfill. Every bar is then professionally sanitized, melted, and remoulded by hand before it is donated.

We describe the sources of our reclaimed soap honestly, but we do not manufacture the original soap and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party soap maker, hotel, or brand. Any reference to the origin of our reclaimed material is for transparency only and does not imply that the original maker has reviewed, approved, or stands behind our finished product. Relavco alone is responsible for the bars we produce.

Soap is a personal-care product, and any soap can cause irritation or an allergic reaction in some people. Reactions depend on your individual skin and sensitivities and are not something we can predict or prevent. By purchasing and using Relavco soap, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

Please review the available product information before use and use your own discretion in deciding whether a product is suitable for you. Stop using the product immediately and, if needed, seek medical advice if you experience redness, itching, rash, irritation, or any other adverse reaction. Keep soap out of the eyes and out of reach of children, and do not use it on broken or damaged skin.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Relavco is not responsible or liable for any allergic reaction, skin irritation, sensitivity, or other adverse effect resulting from the use of, or contact with, our soap, including reactions to essential oils, fragrance, botanicals, or any ingredient carried over from the reclaimed soap. You use our products voluntarily and at your own risk, and you are responsible for reviewing the available product information and deciding whether a product is suitable for you. Nothing in this section limits any right you may have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted only once we confirm it and your payment is successfully processed. We may refuse or cancel an order at our discretion, including if an item is out of stock, if there is an error in pricing or product information, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you.

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD). We currently do not charge HST, as we operate under the small-supplier threshold; this may change in future, and any applicable tax will be shown at checkout. Shipping is calculated live at checkout based on your address and chosen service. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do our best to keep prices and product details accurate, but errors can occur, and we reserve the right to correct them.

We ship across Canada through Canada Post. Shipping rates and service options are calculated at checkout from your address. Delivery time estimates are provided by Canada Post and are not guaranteed by us. Risk of loss passes to you once the order is delivered to the address you provide.

Local pickup is available at Asian Food Centre parking lot, 621 Wanless Dr, Brampton, ON L7A 3S9. If you choose pickup, you select a date and time at checkout and agree to collect your order during that window and to bring your order receipt. We will email you when your order is ready. Please see our Refund & Return Policy for details on uncollected orders.

Because soap is a personal hygiene product, all sales are final, and the only exception is an order that arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect. Please review our Refund & Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms, for full details.

Relavco is not a registered charity or non-profit. We donate profits from shop sales to charitable causes, but purchases and any optional add-a-donation amounts are not tax-deductible, and we do not issue charitable tax receipts. Any “add a donation” amount you choose at checkout is voluntary and is added to your payment.

You agree to use our site lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use it to transmit harmful or unlawful content. We may suspend access for anyone who misuses the site.

The Relavco name, logo, branding, text, images, and site design are owned by Relavco or used with permission and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written consent, except as needed to use the site normally.

If you send us messages, questions, or other content through the site, you grant us permission to use that content to respond to and follow up with you. Please do not send us confidential information you do not want us to have.

Our site and products are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty that our soap is suitable for your skin or will not cause an adverse reaction.

You acknowledge that our soap is handmade from reclaimed material and that natural variation, and the possibility of irritation or allergic reaction, are inherent characteristics of the product and are not defects. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act or other consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Relavco, its founder, team, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for any personal injury, skin irritation, allergic reaction, or other adverse effect, arising from or relating to your use of the site or our products, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for rights under applicable consumer-protection law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Relavco, its founder, team, and volunteers from any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of our products, your failure to follow the usage guidance and warnings in these Terms or on our packaging, or your breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
